When Gerry-An was 19 she came to Amsterdam, met a lot of photographers, and created a lot of free work. Besides being the model for these shoots she also arranged the styling and make-up. Frans Anconé saw a picture of her and asked her to model for the magazine Avenue with photographer Bart van Leeuwen. He took her to Istanbul for a beautiful shoot.

While modeling you could find Gerry-Ann at most of the pret-a-porter shows in Milan, London, Paris, Madrid and Tokyo. She worked fulltime until the age of 24. Assignment with famous photographers like Nadir and Javier Vallhonrat. After that, she stopped for a few years to start a family and when she was 30, she pursued her career again, while also starting to work as a makeup artist.

Recently Gerry-An relaunched her part-time modeling career and is still working as a talented makeup artist. With her experience as a model, she has noticed she is a lot more confident than back then. She is more comfortable in front of the camera and embraces the fact that aging is an inherent part of life.
