Jamilla was scouted at the age of 8 by an acquaintance who worked for an advertising agency. This resulted in a part-time modeling career, working for brands like C&A and O’Neill while she was still in school. When she finished school she realized she was getting more confident and thought a fulltime modeling career was a good option to pursue. She has been working as a model full-time ever since.

After school, Jamilla traveled around the world and still does. Several months of the year she is working in London, Cape Town, New York, and Los Angeles. That is one thing she most appreciates about working as a model—it brings you to so many beautiful places and so many different jobs. One of those memorable jobs was for a furniture company, where they shot on a gorgeous location set in the mountains near the famous lake Como in Italy and together with photographer Carli Hermes.

Besides working Jamilla loves to work out. She does soul cycling and fitness, but also loves to dance, something that is also very helpful during her work. The most important things in her life are her good health and happiness. She believes when you put that first, it makes it possible to love others and also bring them happiness.
