At the age of 19 the beautiful Monique has been scouted. A complete surprise for her as she was always busy with horses she never considered a modelling career. It felt like a ‘ticket to see the world’ so took the opportunity and is still very grateful for all that it’s has given her.
Mostly she worked fromout Amsterdam as her home base, but she lived also in New York and Paris. Between the years she travelled non stop from country to country for work. She has been privileged to shoot on tropical locations like Barbados and Brazil and was booked by H&M regularly to work three weeks in a row in sunny locations.
She has been the face of Vichy and was seen in tons of stores, bus stops, and in their commercials. Besides many fashion clients she has worked for several editorial magazines.
She never lost her interest in horses and still rides a lot. She specialized in jumping, and polo. Monique is a multi talent she has presented for TV (Veronica) for a number of years, interviewed several people and sometimes acted a bit. She is now working on a documentary about Polo.
When she was 26 years old she has lived in Mombassa, Kenia to help set up an orphan house for boys from the age 8 who are living on the streets. This was a very educational and interesting period for. She volunteered also for Dance4life where kids we’re taught about HIV and aids and does a lot for the dutch foundation ‘de opkikker’.
Besides her care for these several projects the most important thing in the world is her family, she is happily married and has 3 beautiful sons. Monique loves to live outdoors and loves to learn new things.
